Hi there! I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted on my blog. I lost my creative mojo for awhile there. I think it's some PTSD from living through this tragic and crazy time, which I'm sure I'm not alone in. I've had a lot on my plate and my craft time always gets pushed to the bottom of the priority list. However, I've snuck a card in here and there over the summer, for family birthdays and these lunch notes for my son. I just doodle them on the day of, to give him a smile during lunch. The last one is Dog Man (a book series my son loves). I doodled it after receiving a message from my son's teacher that he forgot his lunch.

Virtual card challenge

One of my friends whose also into scrapbooking and card making created a virtual craft challenge this weekend. We were to create a scrapbook layout or card with a specific theme or color scheme. It was alot of fun. Creativity is the best therapy.

Friday, March 27, 2020

It's been quite awhile since I visited my blog. I plan on doing some cards this weekend for some craft therapy. I'll be sure to post them. I was looking through photos today and came across these from March 7th. They're from a hike we took, while on an overnight camp with my son's Cub Scout pack. It was a little chilly but the sun was out, you could see the buds on the trees and a whiff of spring was in the air. Little did we know while we enjoyed our hike, that only four days later Italy would have to close it's borders and that the following week we would be in quarantine due to COVID-19. Looking at these photos now, it's hard to believe they're only from three weeks ago tomorrow. I've been fortunate to get all this time with my son and getting things done around the house, but it's such a surreal time and I often have anxiety over what's going on. We're doing our best to get outside for some fresh air and a walk in our neighborhood and I hope that continues. But I long for the day this virus is over. I can go see my parents and other family without fear of making anyone sick. The day we can all get out of our neighborhoods and go for a hike again or even a road trip to explore somewhere new. For now, I'm finding these photos calming and they give me hope.

I'll leave you with a quote that was a favorite of someone close to my heart, 'Hey little fighter, soon things will be brighter' ~Stephanie Goudreault

30th Birthday Card

8/26/18

A card I designed at the request of my youngest sister. A friend and co-worker of hers was turning 39 and is also a big West Wing fan. My sister was happy with the result as was her friend.

So happy with my company stamp!! The baby on the stamp is myself at 6 months old. The 'Megsy Wegs' of my company name, was inspired by a childhood nickname given to me by my father.

I went to a friend's Stampin' Up Camp, to learn how to make these beautiful gift tags and gift bags. Stampin' Up has a great paper punch called the Corner Trio Punch. We were able to give the corners of the tags a unique look, that just added a little something extra to the tags. We used Stampin' Up stamps and punches to make the tags, along with Stampin' Up cardstock. The plain brown paper and white paper gift bags, were purchased at the Dollar Store. We again used Stampin' Up stamps, punches and paper, to decorate the bags. It was great working with such a talented group of people, who are also friends. I loved creating the tags and bags to give to my loved ones for Christmas. Homemade is best :)
